ARE WE ANY DIFFERENT FROM THE PHARISEE WHEN WE HATE THEM?

This humble thoughts of mine are going to come off as very controversial for some people but I HOPE  WE LEARN TO LOVE ANOTHER

I was until recently very guilty of passing my judgment and disgust on homosexuality till I got down in my bible and tried to study the love of God and this last Saturday while I sat at the back seat in church and the sermon was going on, the HOMO issue and How God loves us kept making a lot of loud noise in my head. Reflecting on my own life and how God has still loved me unconditional to the point of dying for me, at the end of the service I repented for the way I have been very judgmental and categorizing (in the sins category) this particular issue.

We use the bible to condemn the Gay people in our society but the same bible instructs us to love one another. And looking at how God loves us, he loves us ALL the same way BUT HATES SIN (Psalms 5:4). His love for us is very Unconditional and He is very compassionate.

I totally don’t support being Gay nor would I want to see this vice legalized, but just how would God deal with this situation?

God loves sinners but hates the SIN. He doesn’t condemn anyone but also doesn’t Condone sin. Look at John 8:1-11 (the woman caught in adultery brought to Jesus), In vs.10-11, He asked if any of her accusers had condemned her and said “if no one condemned you neither do I, go and sin no more “. Also look at the Luke 7:36-50, the story of the prostitute that washed Jesus’s feet. When all the Pharisees and people gathered around thought this woman was unworthy and unwelcome, Jesus in His loving nature saw someone worth dying for and given a second chance.  He didn’t at any point Condon the act BUT said “your sin are forgiven’ and I bet that woman’s lifestyle never remained the same after that loving encounter with a loving, forgiving and accepting God. Just imagine what would have happened if Jesus threw her out of that house and condemned? Many people back then and today have changed because of that one loving act

This is a perfect example of loving the sinner while hating the sin. Shortly after this incident, Jesus was hanging on a cross paying the ultimate price for all of our sin!

What does that teach us?

We ought to love one another and be compassionate without compromising our values/convictions. We should instead reach out to the lost and shine our light in the most loving way(like God when He gave up His only son to Die for ALL OF US SINNERS Romans 5:8)

peter:8. Above everything, let’s love one another.  Jude, verse 22-23 says, “Try to help those who argue against you. Be merciful to those who doubt. Save some by snatching them as from the very flames of hell itself. And as for others, help them to find the Lord by being kind to them, but be careful that you yourselves aren’t pulled along into their sins. Hate every trace of their sin while being merciful to them as sinners.”

Secondly and important but always sidelined issue, all SIN is SIN. With our God, there is no small medium or big sin.

I totally do not agree with our brothers and sisters when they claim being Gay is a human right and therefore should be legalized or accepted as a norm. And I also hate the fact that some countries think we should embrace all sorts of sins as RIGHTS.

This is so not true and shouldn’t be embraced. The bile clearly lists it among the list of sins, look at Leviticus 18:22, 20:13 and Romans 1:26-32. Homosexuality also undermines the basic family unit of husband and wife, the God-ordained means of procreation.  It is also dangerous to society. BUT this doesn’t mean we should we forget our very own and other what we consider “small sins” on the sidelines and put all our energy to fight sin in crucifying the Homo I mean while we are busy condemning them, corruption, robbery, lying, fornication, adultery, murder, rape, witchcraft, and so many other evils are slowly but carefully eating away at our communities and being looked as normal and possessing less danger to society , which is completely wrong . as we try to help our brothers and sisters see the evil In this, may we also search our lives and repent were we have fallen off and have become complacent with other things that the bible refers to as sin.

How about we rather;

Try as much as possible to love, pray and encourage one another

Try not to categorize sin but recognize what is sin and break away from it and help others overcome.

How about we try to find other means e.g. counselling to cab down other than persecute those involved and help find restoration.

Fire has never put out fire, by prosecuting and crucifying them we are not helping the situation.

Above all, let’s learn to LOVE everyone around us like Christ loved us while we were still sinners. Some people do what they do because they are trying to find their identity and the feeling of being loved and cared for in the wrong places.

May our churches, homes, lives and communities be those places where the lost get found, places where they can find unconditional love  and come to know how much God loves, values and has a greater plan and purpose for them . They maybe lost but they are not forgotten.

I pray that as we have seen the light, may we not be the modern-day Pharisees with the way we live out our Christianity.

LOVE CAN AND SURE DOES CHANGE EVERYTHING.
